Only last Saturday, a group of Bridge Crossers were mowing and clearing fallen branches at the White Rock Cemetery. I had just posted about the dignity of the Tinbridge Hill neighborhood and the detrimental effects of redlining that still exist today.
I don’t know about you, but forcing myself to remember the trials and failures of our local, state, and national past over the sixteen days leading up to July 4th actually helped me to appreciate and enjoy our communal freedom when the day came and gave me a healthy sense of responsibility as a citizen to encourage justice and peace in my community.
Here at the Bridge of Lament, we would like to hear what this Bridge crossing experience was like for you. We have created a short ten-question survey we hope you will complete. Your answers will help us know if we should continue this project for another year and how we might improve it.
If we continue this project, we anticipate putting out a call for submissions sometime this fall for next year’s Bridge Crossing. Our goal would be a more diverse representation from wider backgrounds to help us cross the Bridge.
Thank you again for crossing the bridge with us this year! We look forward to hearing from you in the survey. Stay tuned for occasional posts throughout the year.
